This is a guest blog post by Ashley Platz, a powerful actress and formidable yoga teacher (among many other things) whom I admire very much. We met while working on a film a couple of years ago, and she is always up to something interesting. This is her account of her first 10-day silent meditation, and I am honored to have her contribute to the Polyblog.
I spent a good part of the day in an unnamed jacuzzi with a beautiful woman (whom I will name below). I ate a Niçoise salad for lunch while lying in a lawn chair (arranged just so) on the eight million dollar property where we were shooting. At one point, in between bites, I reached up and plucked a couple of kumquats from the nearby tree to cleanse my palate. That really happened.
Nothing spectacular but slow and steady gains.
